Nearly half month’s CNY holiday has gone, people is on the way back for working along with happiness and luck to the new year. It is called “Chinese New Year”, which is a exclusive festival in all over the world.

My hometown is in Jiangxi province, which located in the middle of China. It is far from SZ more than nine hundreds kilometers.

Just like most of the younger, I came to SZ for working after graduation.

SZ is a young and high-developing city .

People from all over of the country come together to work and live. More than 15 million work and live in this city but

only 3 million is locals. Those unlocals contribute so much to SZ, they are propellent for the city’s prosperous. They also creat a great deal of fortune to SZ while they struggle for realizing their dreams.

Chinese New Year in 2012 is coming. It holds the most significant position among all Chinese festivals and holidays. It is often referred to as the spring festival because it signals the beginning of spring. It is a good time when families and friends get together to say bye to the old and welcome the new.

It is the year of the Dragon in 2012. The dragon is a symbol of strength, goodness, and good luck, and supernatural forces. The dragon is said to be a mythical combination of many animals.

Traditional Chinese New Year is accompanied by a belief in good fortune.A traditional gift that is small red envelopes filled with “lucky money”. These envelopes are given to children by their family and friends. The red color is used to bring good fortune, and the money inside is used by the children to buy holiday treats. These envelopes symbolize the giving of good fortune.

Throughout the New Year’s season, having a traditional dinner on New Year’s Eve is one of the most important parts of the holiday and the food eaten at this time of year has traditional meanings related to the Chinese New Year. Certain foods are served because they symbolize abundance and good fortune. Besides preparing special dishes, tangerines and oranges are often passed out to children and guests, as they symbolize wealth and good luck.

It is important to remember that Chinese New Year is not only celebrated in China. Anywhere there are Chinese people, there is a Chinese New Year celebration. The specific activities of the celebration often vary depending on the region, but the basic principles are the same.

The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.
