During LightFair (North America’s annual largest trade show of architectural and commercial lighting ) 2008, most attendees were caught up in the waves of excitement and opportunity washing in and around the booths featuring LEDs and LED fixtures, reports JULIE MACSHANE.

More than 19,800 attendees flooded LightFair 2008, and it seemed like most spent their time pooling in the booths of LED exhibitors. Once there, architects, designers and specifiers jammed together in the small spaces and asked big questions about using LEDs in their products and applications: How bright? What colors? How much money can I save? Many visitors were looking at LEDs as the long-term lighting strategy to save energy and thus money, a more urgent quest with the price of oil rising ever higher.

Flashlights was widely used in many fields, such as hike, camping, and outdoor sports. It’s necessary for many people. If you want to buy a new flashlights now, you have many choice. Flashlights can be divided into three types, traditional flashlights(Incandescent), LED flashlights, HID flashlights. HID is less common. So your choice is between traditional flashlights and LED flashlights.

What are main difference of them?

Traditional flashlights use bulbs which contain a heated-up coil of tungsten wire. It gives off light energy with heat. The bulbs are usually filled with argon with Halogen.  In higher quality models, Xenon is also used.  LED flashlights use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of Traditional light bulbs. LED is the one which bring so many advantages.

Why LED Lighting be best way?    

1. Absolutely Green. Although energy savings are roughly similar,  there are some differences between LED and CFL technology that might influence your ultimate decision. CFLs contain a small amount of mercury. It does not break CFLs environmentally friendly reputation. However, for those who want to eliminate the use of mercury altogether, LED light bulbs is a better choice.
